The origin of the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering (SEEE) at the Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) can be traced back to the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1978.The school is committed to cultivating  excellent engineers of Electronic, Electrical and Information Engineering. We comprehensively focus on the international frontier of engineering technologies,  proactively respond to the demand of national strategies, and aggressively serve the development of peer enterprises. We also attract top talent, manifest cultivation characteristics, and have trained a large number of high-level talents working on engineering technology and management sectors  for Shanghai as well as the whole country.

  SEEE consists of Computer Science, Automation, Electrical Engineering and Electronic Information Departments.The School also administers Computer Center of SUES, Center Laboratory, Institute  of Electric Basis, Research and Development Center of Machine Recognition and Industrial Inspection, International Joint Laboratory of Intelligent Perception and Control. The school has a faculty team of more than 130 people, of which 41 are professors and associate professors. Among them 90% of the these faculty members hold Master or Ph.D. degrees. The school has also recruited several distinguished overseas teachers, academic leaders and business executives as  part-time or visiting professors to enhance the academic and research level. The school, which persistently strengthens academic and industrial innovative research collaborative and aggressively promotes the technology transfer, has achieved high level of theoretical  and applicational accomplishments in the fields of smart city, intelligent manufacturing, machine vision, smart grid, green computing, internet of things, artificial intelligence, big data analysis, optimal control and so on.

  SEEE has 6 four-year undergraduate programs, including Computer Science and Technology, Automation, Automobile Electronic and Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Electronic Information Engineering, BroadcastingNetwork(Outstanding engineers education training plan of Ministry of education). Of which Automobile Electronic and Automation Engineering and Electronic Information Engineering are joint academic programs with Lawrence Technological  University, USA and have achieved remarkable performance on education. The school can enroll full-time engineering masters in two areas of Control Engineering and Transportation Engineering and full-time academic masters in two areas of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering and Intelligent Perception and Control.

  Currently, we have more than 2000 enrolled students in SEEE, which is the largest technical school in the university. The average employment rate of our graduated students is higher than 98% every year,and these alumni have consistently received very good evaluations from employers. Many students won national prizes in the undergraduate electronic design contests, mathematical model contests, “ Challenge Cup”and so on.
